Bill Clinton was a useless lump while in office. His cronies did the work and he was occupied with all the extra-marital trysts. He isn't able to scratch without his wife's permission.

That's a load of bolshy! Its so easy to get all personally vindictive with a US president, just because you don't like him. So meanwhile Dubya screws up America with his divisive populist policies, shocking environmental record and tax relief only for the rich; but Bill Clinton was a "useless lump" because he was caught shagging an intern! What about his achievements? He might not have been perfect, but he was a much more able and competent president than Dubya can ever hope to be. His error was that he was caught having an affair! I'd find it hard to believe if there was ever a president of a nation who didn't have dodgy affairs and mistresses. Most of Italy and France's leaders have been open about their affairs and haven't been seen as "useless leaders", it's just America and their moral-majority religious right that judge the value of a presidency because of their private lives.
Don't get me wrong, some of my best friends are American, but let's get some pllitical perspective here!

It is easy to say the if Clinton was in power he would not have G. But it has always been known that both Bushes have always been war driven. Reason they promote war and super powers is so that the public is diverted from the fact that the American economy etc. is in dire problems. By keeping the public's eye on the bouncing ball they are not called to task on the other issues.

BTW if you ever meet a politician who says that he is honest and has never cheated at anything he is lying. All policitians are sellers and as a good salesperson they well make you believe what they want you to believe. That is how they came to be a politician. What got Clinton in trouble is as the head of the JUSTICE SYSTEM he lied to the public and the head of the department. If he had simply said, yes I cheated. The only people I have to apologize to is my wife, child and mother. But he didnt. He went on national television and lied. He tried to ruin several women's lives because of it and if you think the intern was the only one get your head out of the sand. He would not have been the first public person to acknowledge an affair and it would have blown over without a peep. Greater percentage of the American presidents have had open affairs so it would not have been anything new.

So Beta, this make you happy? M.
